I went into the local Ford dealerships today to see about a '14 Fiesta ST that I've had my eye on for months (test driven two already). It's Labor Day, it's the end of the model year, I thought, "Why not? Maybe we can make a deal."
Unfortunately, I couldn't meet where the salesperson was, so we parted ways. I can't justify only a $1,500 discount on a "last year's" MY, compared to a 2015.
So I think I might look into ordering a 2015.

I think it's just the early-morning light reflecting on it. It's red.

That was my guess. I did see an orange one for sale though once. It was probably the only orange one ever made!

For what it's worth, good for you walking away when you're not comfortable with the deal. Too many people just don't want to do that.

I've been around the block and back buying used cars and parts, but this is my first new car. I'm already ultra-uncomfortable even before sitting in the hot seat!

I feel you. In a way it should be even easier with a new car in production, since hey, there's always another one coming down the assembly line. But unfortunately some dealers make it very uncomfortable. I tend not to go back to those.

To be fair, the dealership was cool about it. It's just a big decision to make.

Good for them, at least you don't need to disqualify them from future business.
There's a dealership where I bought a car and had such an awful experience during the entire ownership that not only have I not bought another car from that dealer, but not from any dealer owned by the same folks. Suffice to say, it was Bad.
